Islamabad: Pakistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to create a roadmap for joint energy initiatives, aiming to enhance regional connectivity and economic growth through significant projects like the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line.

According to Trend News Agency, the agreement was reached during a meeting between Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Energy Musadik Masood Malik. The discussions underscored the importance of these projects in not only meeting the energy needs of the involved countries but also in fortifying regional ties and stimulating economic growth.

The ministers also committed to maintaining regular contact to ensure the successful execution of these initiatives and to foster long-term cooperation between the two nations. Additionally, the Turkmen delegation, which was in Islamabad as a guest of honor at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Cou
ncil of Heads of Government meeting, engaged in talks with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari about expanding economic cooperation.
