Baku: The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan has granted the request from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Tajikistan for the extradition of Insaf Sobia, a Pakistani citizen born in 1989, to face criminal charges. Insaf Sobia was wanted internationally for fraud in Tajikistan and was detained in Azerbaijan in February 2026, where an arrest warrant was issued.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Insaf Sobia was extradited under the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters, dated October 7, 2002. The handover was carried out by the special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice to the competent authority of the Republic of Tajikistan.
