Paris Hosts Musical Evening Celebrating 140th Anniversary of Azerbaijani Composer Uzeyir Hajibayli

Paris: A musical evening marking the 140th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayli was held in Paris, co-organized by the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora and pianist Saida Zulfugarova. The event celebrated Hajibayli’s significant contribution to Azerbaijani music and culture.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the evening opened with “Ashiqsayagi,” one of the main pearls of Uzeyir Hajibayli’s musical heritage. This symbolic piece, deeply rooted in Azerbaijani musical tradition, created an atmosphere of artistic dialogue between the national musical heritage and the modernity of the 20th century.

The event was attended by notable figures including Ambassador of Azerbaijan to France Leyla Abdullayeva, UNESCO Artist for Peace Hedva Ser, and a representative of the Ambassador of Mongolia to France, showcasing the international recognition and admiration for Hajibayli’s work.
