Participants of Azerbaijan NGOs Cooperation Forum Address President Ilham Aliyev

Khankendi: Participants of the Azerbaijan NGOs Cooperation Forum, dedicated to the ‘Year of Constitution and Sovereignty,’ held in Khankendi, have adopted an address to President Ilham Aliyev. The address, read by Khatira Valiyeva, Chairperson of the ‘Khankendi’ Public Union for Support to Internally Displaced Persons, highlighted the progress and achievements of Azerbaijan’s NGO sector.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the forum celebrated the opportunity to hold the event in liberated Khankendi, where hundreds of NGO representatives engaged in discussions, exchanged knowledge, and shared conclusions. The address expressed gratitude for President Aliyev’s support in expanding opportunities for Azerbaijan’s NGOs, allowing them to enhance their international presence and prestige.

The address also highlighted the establishment of the Global South NGOs Platform, which has designated Baku as its permanent headquarters, as evidence of the global recognition of Azerbaijan’s NGOs. It emphasized the successful liberation and reconstruction efforts in Garabagh and Eastern Zangezur, where significant urban development has taken place, resettling nearly 60,000 people in rebuilt areas.

Additionally, the forum noted Azerbaijan’s unique post-conflict urban development model and the upcoming hosting of the UN World Urban Forum. It mentioned the active preparation of Azerbaijan’s NGOs for this event, leveraging experiences from COP29.

In the era of digital transformation, the concept of a ‘digital NGO’ was discussed as a means to enhance operational efficiency and achieve measurable results. The address expressed full support for President Aliyev’s policies, acknowledging his leadership in both war and peace efforts.

The address concluded by acknowledging President Aliyev’s participation in significant global events, including sessions at the UN General Assembly and various international summits, as evidence of his global prestige and Azerbaijan’s growing influence in international affairs.
