Khojaly: Participants of the First International Scientific-Practical Conference dedicated to eminent Azerbaijani thinker and scholar Sheikh Sayyid Yahya Bakuvi Shirvani visited the Khojaly Genocide Memorial in the city of Khojaly. The visit served as a poignant reminder of the tragic events that took place in the region.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the delegation was informed about the Khojaly tragedy, recognized as one of the most grievous crimes of the 20th century. The visit aimed to enhance the understanding of the historical events and ensure that the memory of the victims is preserved for future generations.

The Khojaly Genocide Memorial, a project realized through the concept prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, stands as a testament to the lives lost during the tragedy. Its purpose is to perpetuate the memory of the victims, convey historical truths to future generations, and maintain the national memory of the events.

During their time at the memorial, participants received detailed information about the historical origins of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, including the policy of occupation and the impact of Armenian terrorism on Azerbaijani lands. The exhibition hall provided insights into the history of Khojaly, the geography of the occupation, the chronology of the conflict, and the violations of international law norms related to the Khojaly genocide, which is considered one of the most severe crimes against humanity.
