In addition, solar power plants with a capacity of 340 MW are under construction, 7 MW of rooftop solar panels have been installed, and preparations are ongoing for a 240 MW wind power plant,' said Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov in his remarks at a special session on 'Cities at the Heart of Connectivity: Urban Reconstruction and Regional Cooperation' held as part of the WUF13.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Shahbazov noted that Azerbaijan has established institutional mechanisms for energy efficiency and created an Energy Efficiency Fund. This initiative aims to reduce energy consumption and losses, improve resource management, and develop smart infrastructure. He added that Azerbaijan seeks to expand investments in this field, emphasizing that future cities will generate more value with less energy.
