Baku: Azerbaijan remains committed to contributing to efforts aimed at shaping a climate-resilient urban future, as well as strengthening dialogue and cooperation, Presidential Representative on Climate Issues Mukhtar Babayev said during the event titled 'Early Warnings and Sustainable Cities' held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Babayev highlighted the importance of early warning systems, emphasizing that their value is not solely in numbers but in their ability to save human lives. He acknowledged that, despite significant global progress, several challenges persist. These include limited financial and institutional capacities, information gaps, and communication barriers. Babayev stressed that overcoming these issues requires cooperation among governments, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector.

Babayev further asserted that no country or city can achieve resilience or adaptation in isolation. He pointed out that partnerships, science, technology, and international cooperation are crucial in shaping a climate-resilient urban future.
