Baku: On January 23, Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Francina Armengol Socias, Speaker of the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain. Prime Minister Asadov conveyed his condolences to Armengol Socias regarding the recent train crash in Spain that resulted in a tragic loss of life.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting highlighted the positive dynamics in the relations between Azerbaijan and Spain across various sectors, emphasizing that these interstate relations are founded on principles of friendship and mutual respect. The discussions touched upon the significance of interparliamentary cooperation, with both sides acknowledging the importance of reciprocal visits and maintaining contacts at the parliamentary level.

The dialogue also covered the enhancement of mutually beneficial collaboration in multiple domains, such as trade, economy, investment, energy, renewables, transport, and other critical areas.
