Poltava Attack: Death Toll Rises to 47 in Russian Missile Strike

POLTAVA – The death toll from a recent ballistic missile strike by Russia on the Ukrainian city of Poltava has risen to 47, with 206 people reported injured. The attack, which notably impacted an educational institution and a hospital, marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska confirmed the updated casualty figures in a statement earlier today. She highlighted the devastating impact of the strikes on both critical infrastructure and civilian areas.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported earlier via the press service that the missiles were launched midday and resulted in immediate casualties and destruction. President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a separate statement, initially reported that 41 people had died due to the attack, underscoring the severity of the incident and the ongoing danger to civilian lives.
