Population Relocation Progresses in Khojavand City as Restoration Continues

Khojavand: Up to 1,354 residents have settled in Khojavand city to date. The population relocation process is being carried out in stages as restoration and reconstruction work in Khojavand is completed, Taran? Quliyeva, press secretary of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavand districts, told APA's Karabakh bureau.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the restoration of a total of 1,188 houses is planned in Khojavand city. Work on 728 houses has already been completed, while restoration of 460 houses is currently ongoing. As restoration and major repair works are completed, residents are being relocated in stages.

It was noted that restoration work in Khojavand city began in October 2025. The first relocation to Khojavand city took place on February 20, 2026. At that stage, 50 families, comprising 194 people, returned to their native homeland.

Currently, a total of 348 families and 1,354 residents have settled in the city. Of them, 140 families live in apartment buildings, while 208 families reside in private houses.

Within the framework of restoring social infrastructure, a 640-student secondary school was comprehensively renovated by the Ministry of Science and Education and began operating on April 21. In addition, the restoration of a 240-seat kindergarten is also planned. At the initial stage, a 40-seat kindergarten is expected to be put into operation.

Overall, as the restoration work carried out in Khojavand is completed, the phased permanent settlement of the population is being ensured.
