President Aliyev Affirms Azerbaijan’s Commitment to Global Energy Security

Baku: "As a reliable supplier of oil to the international market, Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to energy security," President Ilham Aliyev declared at the opening ceremony of the 13th Global Baku Forum.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan's role in producing and exporting various energy segments, including oil, gas, oil products, petrochemicals, and electricity. The president emphasized plans to increase exports, focusing on natural gas and electricity due to market demand and expanded supply geography.

In his remarks, President Aliyev noted the growth of Azerbaijan's client base for natural gas exports. Over the past year, the number of countries receiving Azerbaijani gas increased from 12 to 16, all through pipelines. This expansion underscores Azerbaijan's status as a leading exporter of natural gas by pipeline in terms of geographical coverage. The president stated that the volume of exports is expected to continue growing, reinforcing Azerbaijan's role in enhancing energy security for numerous countries.

President Aliyev reiterated that Azerbaijan's consistent supply of oil to the international market would persist, further contributing to global energy security.
