Zangilan: President Ilham Aliyev has declared ambitious plans to transform Zangilan into a significant transport hub for Azerbaijan and the broader region. Speaking at a meeting with residents in the city, President Aliyev highlighted the strategic importance of Zangilan, which is situated along a key transport corridor.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev detailed ongoing infrastructure developments, including the construction of a railway. He projected that within a year or a year and a half, it will be feasible to travel from Baku to Zangilan by rail, similar to current rail travel to Aghdam. Furthermore, by next year, train service is expected to extend to Khankendi. The railway will eventually connect to Nakhchivan via the Zangezur Corridor, underscoring the region's growing connectivity.
President Aliyev's remarks underscore a strategic vision for enhancing Azerbaijan's transport infrastructure and regional integration. The developments are anticipated to bolster economic growth and facilitate easier movement of goods and people across the region.
