BAKU: President Ilham Aliyev has approved a regulation that outlines the joint activities of the State Commission on State Border Delimitation between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This development marks a significant step in addressing border security and delimitation issues between the two countries.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev’s approval came through a decree that endorsed the “Regulation on the joint activity of the State Commission on State Border Delimitation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission on State Border Delimitation and Border Security Issues between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.” The regulations were initially signed on August 30, 2024, and are now officially in effect following the president’s decree.

The establishment of a structured framework for the joint commission is seen as a critical move in managing and resolving longstanding border disputes between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The regulation aims
to facilitate cooperation and dialogue concerning border delimitation and security, contributing to the broader objective of stabilizing relations in the region.
