Baku: President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the need to reduce differences between rural and urban areas across all sectors during a meeting dedicated to agricultural issues. He highlighted the negative trend of large-scale urbanization, where there is an influx from rural areas to cities, as discussed at the World Urban Forum recently held in Baku.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev noted that some countries have struggled to address this issue effectively, lacking the means or strategy to reverse the trend. He stressed the importance of initiating a process that encourages the return from cities to rural areas. For such a process to succeed, he asserted that differences between rural and urban areas must be minimized across all sectors.
