Baku: "Investments are the main driving force for the development of any country," stated President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during a meeting with a delegation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The remarks, reported by APA, highlight Azerbaijan's commitment to fostering an environment conducive to foreign investments.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan's longstanding openness to foreign investments, underscored by its stable legislation, including production sharing agreements established three decades ago. He noted the uniqueness of Azerbaijan's approach, as these agreements have remained unchanged, a rarity in global practices. This consistency has been pivotal in building and maintaining trust with international partners, particularly given Azerbaijan's challenging economic conditions in the early 1990s. The President highlighted that Azerbaijan's commitment to trust-building has resulted in a growing number of international companies engaging with the nation and an expanding network of international relations.
President Aliyev further emphasized that Azerbaijan's strategic partnerships, agreements, and declarations have been extended to a diverse array of countries, including those not on amicable terms with one another. He reiterated his stance that Azerbaijan will never become an area of confrontation but will always be a region of cooperation, reflecting the country's dedication to peaceful and collaborative international relations.
