President Aliyev Discusses Economic Impact of Middle East Turbulence

Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has highlighted the global economic implications of the current situation in the Middle East. During an interview with Euronews TV, he emphasized that the ongoing developments have a broad influence, affecting everyone to some extent. He pointed out that while high oil prices might appear beneficial, they are accompanied by significant financial drawbacks. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev explained that many oil-rich countries are heavily invested in treasuries and stock markets. The unrest in the Middle East leads to stock market declines, resulting in financial losses for these countries despite the temporary gains from elevated oil prices. His remarks underline the interconnected nature of global economies and the dual impact of regional instability on oil-dependent nations.
