Baku: "The volume of cargo transported through Azerbaijan in all directions is increasing," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated during a press briefing with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized the significance of developing connectivity and transport links, noting that these topics were central to their discussions. He highlighted Azerbaijan's active participation and, in many cases, initiation of regional transport projects. The country's strategic location allows the East-West and North-South transport corridors to traverse its territory, fostering cooperation with neighboring countries and beyond.
President Aliyev further mentioned that Azerbaijan has made substantial investments in enhancing transport infrastructure, both domestically and in neighboring regions. He stressed the importance of continuing these developments, especially in light of the new geopolitical landscape. The focus remains on increasing the capacity of trade routes and railway infrastructure, with all projects progressing according to schedule and financed through Azerbaijan's resources.
