President Aliyev Highlights Importance of Relations with Central Asian Countries

Cholpon-ata: Relations with the Central Asian countries are among the main priorities of Azerbaijan's foreign policy, President Ilham Aliyev said at the Meeting of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, APA reports. The head of state emphasized the strategic significance of these relations in shaping Azerbaijan's foreign policy agenda.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the strong ties between Azerbaijan and the Central Asian nations, underscoring the frequency of high-level visits as evidence. Since the beginning of 2023, President Aliyev has made a total of 16 visits to Central Asian countries, while leaders from these nations have paid 26 visits to Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev remarked that these interactions reflect the dynamism and closeness of the relationships, positioning Central Asia and Azerbaijan as a unified geopolitical and geo-economic space. The President's statements at the meeting indicate a continued commitment to fostering closer connections with Central Asian countries, which have become significant partners in Azerbaijan's foreign policy strategy.
