Shamakhi: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has declared Shamakhi as one of the country's burgeoning tourism centers. During a meeting with employees at the 'Shirvan Agro' livestock complex in Shamakhi district, President Aliyev elaborated on the extensive development efforts underway in the region as part of the opening ceremony of the enterprise.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized the establishment of various modern recreation areas, hotels, and cultural and educational facilities in Shamakhi. He also highlighted the modern infrastructure of the Shamakhi-Baku highway, which enhances connectivity to Baku as well as to the western and northwestern regions of Azerbaijan.
