Aghdam:President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of an orthopedic mattress manufacturing facility in the Aghdam Industrial Park. The facility is operated by Komfy Limited Liability Company (LLC).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Fuad Najafov, Director of Komfy LLC, provided President Aliyev with details on the operations of the new enterprise. Komfy LLC, which was granted resident status in the Aghdam Industrial Park in 2024, boasts an annual production capacity of 130,000 mattresses. The facility will manufacture a range of mattresses, including Bonnell and pocket spring systems, and will be the first in Azerbaijan to produce mattresses in the 'roll-pack' format, which allows for compact packaging to reduce transportation costs and enhance export opportunities.

The facility aims to cater to both domestic and international markets, including customized mattresses for hotels. It will employ 65 people permanently. The project, valued at 2.5 million manats, received a 700,000-manat loan with a state guarantee from the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund, under the Ministry of Economy. As a resident of the Industrial Park, the enterprise received exemptions totaling 114,000 manats on value-added tax and customs duties.

The Aghdam Industrial Park, established in 2021 by an order from President Aliyev, spans 190 hectares and hosts 39 enterprises, including 37 residents. The park has seen projects valued at 375.5 million manats, with actual investments reaching 192.6 million manats. More than 1,000 jobs have been created, and the total sales volume has hit 2.96 billion manats, with exports totaling 132.6 million manats.
