President Aliyev Meets International Judo Federation Leader

Baku:President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev welcomed Ladislau-Marius Vizer, President of the International Judo Federation, on October 3.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the Azerbaijani President expressed his gratitude to Vizer for supporting the development of judo in Azerbaijan and for hosting the World Judo Championships in Baku for the second time. President Aliyev expressed confidence that the event would be organized at a high level.

Judo is recognized as one of the most popular and successful sports in Azerbaijan, with Azerbaijani judokas earning medals in prestigious competitions. President Aliyev emphasized the importance of the modern sports infrastructure in Baku and other regions of Azerbaijan in achieving these sports accomplishments.

Ladislau-Marius Vizer thanked President Aliyev for the warm reception and praised the organization of the World Judo Championships in Baku. He also congratulated Azerbaijani judokas on their achievements.

The meeting underscored mutual satisfaction with Azerbaijan's active participation in the International Judo Federation. Both leaders discussed the potential for continued fruitful cooperation between the International Judo Federation and the Azerbaijan Judo Federation.

President Aliyev honored Vizer with the 'Dostluq' Order in recognition of his significant contributions to advancing judo in Azerbaijan and worldwide. Vizer expressed his gratitude for the esteemed recognition of his efforts.
