President Aliyev Receives Credentials from Australia’s New Ambassador

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev welcomed Sally-Anne Vincent, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Commonwealth of Australia to Azerbaijan. The ambassador presented her credentials to President Aliyev and engaged in a conversation regarding the bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the potential for cooperation in economic, trade, and investment sectors despite the geographical distance. He emphasized the development of political relations and wished success to Ambassador Vincent in her new role.

Ambassador Vincent expressed her honor in being appointed to Azerbaijan and recalled her recent visit to the country. She committed to expanding bilateral ties and expressed gratitude for President Aliyev's letter to Samantha Mostyn, the Governor-General of Australia, on the occasion of Australia's national holiday.

The ambassador noted the cooperation established during COP29, where Australia was represented by a large delegation, and mentioned the upcoming COP31, co-hosted by Australia and Turkiye. She appreciated Azerbaijan's efforts in this regard and mentioned that Azerbaijan would host the World Urban Forum, a prestigious United Nations event, with a substantial Australian delegation in attendance.

Discussions during the meeting covered political, economic, and green energy cooperation, recognizing the importance of reciprocal visits in deepening relations. Next year, the two countries will celebrate the 35th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
