President Aliyev Receives Credentials from New Egyptian Ambassador

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of Houssam-Eldine Reda, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Egypt on the organization of the Middle East Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh. He appreciated the invitation extended to Azerbaijan by U.S. President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, viewing it as a sign of mutual trust and friendship between the two nations. President Aliyev also recalled President El-Sisi’s visit to Azerbaijan and his own visit to Egypt, noting progress on discussed issues.

Ambassador Houssam-Eldine Reda conveyed greetings from President El-Sisi to President Aliyev, who expressed gratitude and asked for his regards to be passed back to President El-Sisi. The meeting highlighted the importance of the Intergovernmental Commission and noted its upcoming session. The leaders emphasized that direct flights between Baku and Egyptian cities have boosted tourism cooperation.

The discussion also covered prospects for collaboration in cultural and humanitarian fields.
