President Announces Completion of Power Transmission Line Project from Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan through Armenia

Nakhchivan: President Ilham Aliyev has announced that the project to lay power transmission lines from mainland Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan through Armenia is ready. Speaking in an interview with Azerbaijan Television, the President highlighted the strategic importance of this initiative, initially conceptualized under the Zangezur Corridor project.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized that the original focus of the Zangezur Corridor was on transportation. However, the vision has now expanded to include broader infrastructural developments, such as energy transmission. He stated, "We already have a project ready for laying power transmission lines from mainland Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan through the territory of Armenia," indicating a significant step forward in regional cooperation and infrastructure development.

The completion of this project is seen as a pivotal development in Azerbaijan's efforts to enhance connectivity and energy security, not only within its own borders but also in fostering collaboration with neighboring countries. The project reflects Azerbaijan's strategic planning in utilizing the Zangezur Corridor beyond its initial transportation aims.
