Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the tomb of National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honors. This visit comes ahead of May 10, which marks the 103rd anniversary of Heydar Aliyev's birth, who is recognized as the architect and founder of the modern and independent Azerbaijani state.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the tomb of Heydar Aliyev, paying his respects to the National Leader. First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also paid tribute to Heydar Aliyev during the visit. The ceremony included the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Following their tribute to Heydar Aliyev, the President and First Lady placed flowers at the grave of Zarifa Aliyeva, an outstanding ophthalmologist and academician, who was the wife of the National Leader. Additionally, they paid their respects to Aziz Aliyev, a prominent statesman, and professor Tamerlan Aliyev.
