President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva Light Novruz Bonfire with Hasanriz Village Residents


Hasanriz: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva celebrated Novruz with residents of Hasanriz village in the Aghdara district by lighting a traditional bonfire. During their visit on March 18, the President and First Lady also examined the ongoing restoration work on private houses and infrastructure, as reported by APA.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev engaged in conversations with residents who have recently relocated to Hasanriz. The gathering was marked by the lighting of the Novruz bonfire, symbolizing the arrival of spring and new beginnings.



President Aliyev addressed the residents, expressing hope for their comfort and happiness in their new homes. He acknowledged the hardships they endured for 30 years, emphasizing the significance of their resilience. The President noted that the term “refugees” is gradually fading from vocabulary, signifying a positive change.



A resident highlighted the enduring words of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who emphasized the importance of enduring hardships for the sake of independence and a strong state. The resident expressed gratitude for the leadership and vision that led to their victory and current peace.



President Aliyev reiterated the crucial role of Heydar Aliyev in stabilizing Azerbaijan during a turbulent period, preventing the country’s disintegration, and establishing a regular army. He affirmed that the current leadership continues to build on that foundation, celebrating the ability to observe holidays in peace.



Following the bonfire ceremony, President Aliyev and the First Lady visited Hasanriz’s Flag Square, where the Azerbaijani tricolor flag proudly stands on a 17-meter-high flagpole. The square’s location offers a scenic view of Hasanriz and the surrounding villages, highlighting the progress and unity of the region.



Residents extended their gratitude and holiday wishes to the President and First Lady, marking the occasion with a sense of community and hope for the future.
