Berlin: President Ilham Aliyev announced that Azerbaijan has commenced supplying gas to Germany this year during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, APA's correspondent in Berlin reports. This development marks a significant step in energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, President Aliyev highlighted that a 10-year agreement has been signed with German companies, stipulating an annual supply of 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas. This agreement signifies a long-term commitment to energy partnership, with potential for increased volume in the future.

President Aliyev emphasized potential challenges, particularly in financing. He pointed out that European banks have ceased financial support for oil and gas projects due to the green agenda. The President suggested that it would be beneficial for European banks to reconsider their stance, hinting at the importance of continued investment in energy projects.

Additionally, President Aliyev assured that Azerbaijan is fully capable of providing the necessary volume of oil, reinforcing the country's role as a reliable energy supplier.
