President Ilham Aliyev Approves Azerbaijan’s Accession to D-8


Baku: The Republic of Azerbaijan has joined the ‘Charter of the developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation,’ signed in Islamabad on November 22, 2012, APA reports. President Ilham Aliyev has signed the law regarding this.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this development marks Azerbaijan’s formal entry into the D-8, a group that focuses on enhancing economic cooperation and fostering development among its member countries. The organization’s charter outlines the framework for collaboration in areas such as trade, agriculture, industry, energy, and tourism.



The D-8 Organization, also known as Developing-8, is an alliance comprising Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey. With Azerbaijan’s accession, the group aims to further its goals of economic growth and sustainable development through collective efforts and mutual support among the member nations.
