Ismayilli: On May 26, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of the boarding-type ‘Talistan’ Lyceum in the city of Ismayilli, initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Nahid Baghirov, Head of the Ismayilli District Executive Authority, briefed the head of state on the facilities at the educational institution. The initiative is part of the ‘New School for a Renewing Azerbaijan’ program implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which focuses on constructing new school buildings across various regions of the country that meet international standards and are equipped with modern facilities. Additionally, efforts are being made to renovate several older school buildings.
The 1,296-seat lyceum was built under this program and is housed in a four-story building consisting of five blocks. The facility includes 56 classrooms, laboratories for chemistry, physics, and biology, computer science and technology rooms, pre-conscription training rooms for youth, a library, a 300-seat assembly hall, a sports hall, and a canteen.
After touring the ‘Talistan’ Lyceum, the head of state was informed about socio-economic projects implemented in the district in recent years. These include production facilities and recreation centers commissioned between 2020 and 2025, which have created nearly 400 jobs. Furthermore, President Aliyev was briefed on the construction of a water production facility in the village of Tirjan in the district. This facility, with an annual production capacity of 25 million liters, will employ 80 people.
