Badara: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with residents of Badara, Dashbulag, Seyidbayli, and Shushakand villages in the Badara village of the Khojaly district. Addressing the residents, President Aliyev congratulated them on their return to their native Karabakh land, emphasizing that their future would be filled with joy as the suffering and injustice they endured are now over.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the Azerbaijani government’s efforts to create necessary living conditions for the returning residents by renovating houses and providing full infrastructure, including roads, natural gas, electricity, and water. He underscored the historical significance of restoring justice and rights by ending the Armenian occupation and the separatism that followed, which was achieved step by step.
President Aliyev reflected on the aftermath of the Second Karabakh War, noting that from November 10, 2020, to September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan’s primary goal was to fully restore its sovereignty. He praised the efforts to end the Armenian occupation, emphasizing the importance of building and creating in the region. He also acknowledged the sacrifices made by those who lived as refugees, promising better living conditions post-liberation.
The President emphasized the global recognition of Azerbaijan’s achievements, attributing the victory to the people’s will, resolve, and fighting spirit. He recalled his attempts to negotiate with Armenian leaders, warning them of the inevitability of war if they did not vacate Azerbaijani lands voluntarily. Despite their reliance on external support, they misjudged Azerbaijan’s resolve.
He further explained that the anti-terror operation conducted on September 19-20 served as a lesson to separatists, showcasing the strength and determination of the Azerbaijani Army and people. He stated that the reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and East Zangezur demonstrate the country’s strength and commitment to its citizens.
Concluding his address, President Aliyev expressed his best wishes to the returning residents, underscoring the permanence of their presence in their homeland. He joined the residents for photographs, marking the occasion.
