Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has addressed a congratulatory letter to President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Leong Kiong on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the independence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the letter from President Aliyev extends heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan to the people of Vietnam. The letter acknowledges Vietnam’s development and achievements in various sectors.
President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the current level of Azerbaijani-Vietnamese relations, highlighting the importance of the state visit by the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, to Azerbaijan in May. The visit was significant for the bilateral relations, with documents signed during the visit, including the ‘Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam,’ marking an elevation in relations.
The letter also notes the potential for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam in fields such as economy, trade, culture, education, energy, and transport. President Aliyev emphasized the fruitful cooperation within international organizations based on mutual trust and support, expressing determination to further develop interstate relations.
Concluding the letter, President Aliyev expressed confidence in continuing joint efforts to enhance relations and expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation, wishing President Leong Kiong health, success, and lasting peace and prosperity to the people of Vietnam.
