Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has addressed a congratulatory letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, APA reports. In his letter, Aliyev extended his personal congratulations along with those of the Azerbaijani people to Zelenskyy and the citizens of Ukraine, emphasizing the significance of the occasion and expressing best wishes.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aliyev highlighted the current state of Azerbaijan-Ukraine relations, noting their rich traditions and describing the friendly relations as satisfactory. The letter emphasized the importance of the political dialogue, high-level reciprocal visits, and cooperation in economic and humanitarian fields as key elements of the strategic partnership between the two countries. Aliyev underscored the effective cooperation in the energy sector, which has persisted for many years.

Aliyev also expressed his appreciation for the outcomes of Zelenskyy's working visit to Azerbaijan in April and their subsequent meeting. He noted that regular meetings and mutual support on issues concerning territorial integrity and sovereignty are crucial factors in strengthening interstate relations. Aliyev mentioned the existence of an active dialogue at the highest level as a favorable basis for deepening cooperation in various fields such as trade, economy, humanitarian affairs, agriculture, and investment.

In his message, Aliyev assured continued humanitarian support to Ukraine and expressed confidence in the joint efforts to further strengthen the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine for the benefit of both nations.
