Presidents and First Ladies of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Visit Historical Mausoleum in Bukhara

Baku: Presidents and First Ladies of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan visited the Ismail Samani Mausoleum in Bukhara. On August 24, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, First Lady Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva, and their family members paid a visit to the mausoleum, as reported by APA's correspondent dispatched to Uzbekistan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ismail Samani Mausoleum is one of the most ancient Islamic architectural monuments in Central Asia. Constructed between the late 9th and early 10th centuries, the mausoleum is noted for its architectural design. Baked brick serves as the primary construction and decorative material used in the monument. Researchers have identified 18 different types of brickwork in the mausoleum. Tradition holds that Ismail Samani, the founder and a prominent representative of the Samanid dynasty, is interred here along with his father and grandson.
