Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Mihai Pop?oi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, engaging in discussions on March 6. Mihai Pop?oi expressed gratitude for the reception and conveyed greetings from Moldova's President Maia Sandu to President Aliyev.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev acknowledged the greetings and reciprocated by asking that his own greetings be conveyed to Maia Sandu. He also reminisced about past meetings with Moldova's President at international forums. Mihai Pop?oi declared Moldova's strong condemnation of the unmanned aerial vehicle attacks by Iran on Azerbaijan, expressing solidarity and wishing the injured a fast recovery.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the amicable relations between the two nations, recalling and appreciating Azerbaijan's support in challenging times for Moldova. President Aliyev expressed gratitude for Moldova's supportive stance.
The dialogue underscored the mutual support for each country's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Both parties lauded the ongoing development of bilateral relations, especially in political, economic, trade, and energy sectors, and stressed the importance of reciprocal visits in strengthening these ties. They expressed optimism about the success of Mihai Pop?oi's visit.
The meeting also included discussions on cooperation within international organizations, enhancing political dialogue, and exploring other areas of mutual interest.
