President Ilham Aliyev Engages with UK Trade Envoy for Enhanced Bilateral Relations

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Lord Alderdice, the Trade Envoy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan and Central Asia, to discuss the advancement of bilateral relations, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Lord Alderdice congratulated President Aliyev on the progress made in Washington concerning the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. President Aliyev expressed appreciation for the congratulations and highlighted the historical significance of the agreements achieved between the two nations, acknowledging President Donald Trump’s role in the process. He emphasized his commitment to pursuing Azerbaijan’s peace agenda, which he initiated, and noted that peace could spur the region’s economic potential.

The discussion also highlighted the enduring cooperation between Azerbaijan and bp, which has spanned over three decades. Both parties recognized the successful development of Azerbaijan’s relations with the United Kingdom, rooted in strategic partnership, friendship, and trust. They identified significant potential for enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including politics, economy, trade, investment, energy, defense industry, and education. The importance of reciprocal visits at various levels to fortify bilateral relations was also emphasized.

The meeting acknowledged the participation and contributions of British companies in the restoration and reconstruction efforts in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
