Baku: BP has successfully delivered solar panels valued at $13 million to the Jabrayil power plant. This significant development was revealed by Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, BP’s Vice President for the Caspian region, during his address at the 3rd Industrial Safety Summit.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Aslanbayli announced that 20% of the panels intended for the Jabrayil power plant have been transported. He emphasized that these deliveries are part of BP’s ongoing contracts related to the Karabakh field. The construction of the Gunes-Shefeg Power Plant in Jabrayil is seen as a strategic move aligned with modern challenges. This initiative marks BP’s entry into the solar energy sector within Azerbaijan, a domain in which the company has not previously operated. Aslanbayli confirmed that the construction of the plant is set to commence shortly.

The 3rd Industrial Safety Summit, where these announcements were made, is organized jointly by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, SOCAR, and the Azerbaijan Industrial Safety Association (AISA).
