President Ilham Aliyev Highlights Azerbaijan’s Commitment to Regional Peace and Stability

Shusha: President Ilham Aliyev has emphasized Azerbaijan's commitment to establishing a lasting environment of peace and stability in the South Caucasus. Addressing an international conference titled 'Regional Contribution to Global Security: Peacebuilding in the South Caucasus,' held in Shusha, the President outlined the nation's strategic approach to fostering harmony and cooperation within the region.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the significance of last year's Joint Declaration between Azerbaijan and Armenia, signed in Washington and witnessed by then-President of the United States, Donald Trump. This declaration and the subsequent initialing of a peace agreement have transformed the geopolitical landscape of the South Caucasus. The President pointed out that the ongoing development of the Zangezur Corridor will not only connect Azerbaijan's mainland with its Nakhchivan region but also serve as a vital segment of the Middle Corridor, enhancing regional connectivity and economic potential.
