Baku: President Ilham Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan's significant role in the global energy sector during his address at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group. He noted that Azerbaijan has become a key player by initiating, financing, and executing large-scale energy infrastructure projects.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev also highlighted Azerbaijan's efforts in implementing projects that connect countries across Eurasia. These initiatives are crucial for providing necessary energy supplies, particularly at a time when energy supply chains are vulnerable and energy security is a critical component of national security for many countries.
