Davos: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev emphasized the significant role of the energy sector in enhancing the country's economic performance and improving living standards. Speaking to business representatives from various countries at the 'Azerbaijan Executive Breakfast,' part of the World Economic Forum's annual meeting, Aliyev highlighted the strategic focus on energy resources over the years.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev noted that the energy sector has been a top priority for Azerbaijan, allowing for substantial economic growth. While acknowledging the completion of much of the energy portfolio, he stressed the ongoing efforts to offer more to international markets. However, Aliyev pointed out that the current focus is shifting towards developing the non-energy sector, particularly the non-oil and gas industries, as the future priority.
