Davos: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has announced ambitious plans for the country's renewable energy sector, targeting the generation of eight gigawatts from solar and wind sources by 2032. Speaking at the 'Azerbaijan Executive Breakfast,' part of the World Economic Forum's annual meeting, President Aliyev emphasized the importance of diversifying Azerbaijan's economy, highlighting a growing interest in renewable energy.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev shared that Azerbaijan has already inaugurated two significant renewable power stations. He detailed plans to substantially increase solar and wind energy capacity over the next six years, capitalizing on the country's abundant sun and wind resources. The President also mentioned ongoing projects and considerations for enhancing storage capacity to support these renewable energy initiatives.
