President Ilham Aliyev Hosts Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development for Bilateral Talks

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a high-level delegation led by Farzaneh Sadegh, Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development. The meeting, reported by APA, focused on enhancing the economic cooperation between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Farzaneh Sadegh, who also serves as the Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, was warmly welcomed by President Aliyev. The meeting recalled her previous visit to Azerbaijan and her discussions with the President.

President Aliyev referenced his recent telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, highlighting the ongoing discussions aimed at strengthening the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran. He expressed optimism about the potential of joint projects to benefit both countries and the region.

Farzaneh Sadegh expressed her gratitude for the reception, conveying President Pezeshkian's greetings and emphasizing the importance of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations. President Aliyev reciprocated the greetings and reiterated Azerbaijan's commitment to fostering ties with Iran.

The talks underscored the historical, religious, and cultural connections between the nations and the importance of the upcoming 17th meeting of the State Commission on Economic, Trade, and Humanitarian Cooperation in Baku. Discussions also covered infrastructure projects like the North-South Transport Corridor and the highway bridge over the Araz River, reflecting the mutual interests of both countries.
