Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on July 8. The meeting was reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan along with an invitation for President Ilham Aliyev to visit Jordan. The King of Jordan holds his relationship with the Azerbaijani President in high regard. In response, President Aliyev expressed his gratitude and requested that his own greetings be relayed to the King.
President Ilham Aliyev extended an invitation to the King of Jordan to visit Azerbaijan, recalling fond memories of his interactions with King Abdullah II in various settings, including visits to Azerbaijan and Jordan as well as international events.
The dialogue between the two leaders underscored the significance of reciprocal visits and high-level contacts in fostering the relationship between Azerbaijan and Jordan. The discussions highlighted the foundation of their bilateral relationship on friendship and brotherhood principles.
Opportunities to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, including political, economic, energy, connectivity, investment, humanitarian, and other areas, were a focal point of the conversation. Additionally, the leaders exchanged views on regional issues, future engagements, and the expansion of activities concerning the intergovernmental commission and interparliamentary cooperation.
The potential for tourism cooperation was also on the agenda, with discussions about the possibility of opening direct regular flights between Azerbaijan and Jordan, further enhancing connectivity between the two nations.
