President Ilham Aliyev Hosts U.S. Delegation to Discuss Strategic Partnership

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a U.S. delegation led by Caleb Orr, the Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs, on June 1. The meeting focused on strengthening the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, particularly in the economic and energy sectors.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev expressed his appreciation to Caleb Orr for attending the official opening ceremony of the exhibitions and the Baku Energy Forum, which were part of Baku Energy Week. He acknowledged the importance of the letter sent by U.S. President Donald Trump, which highlighted the partnership between the two nations.

President Aliyev emphasized the significance of the Strategic Partnership Charter signed between Azerbaijan and the United States, mentioning that it laid the groundwork for the creation of working groups in various fields to enhance cooperation. He noted the upcoming Azerbaijan-US Economic Dialogue meeting as a significant milestone for both countries. The visit of the U.S. delegation led by Caleb Orr was seen as an opportunity to discuss future cooperation.

Caleb Orr conveyed greetings from U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to President Aliyev. The Assistant Secretary of State highlighted the importance the United States places on the Baku Energy Week, as demonstrated by the letter from President Trump. Orr also praised President Aliyev's leadership in addressing global energy market developments.

The meeting underscored that Baku Energy Week serves as a critical platform for exchanging views on global energy issues and exploring collaboration opportunities among leading energy companies, government agencies, investors, and industry experts.
