Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, alongside the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, attended the inauguration of a new golf club at the Issyk-Kul Golf Resort complex in Cholpon-Ata. The event marked a significant collaboration among the Central Asian nations, as leaders gathered to celebrate the opening of this expansive resort facility.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ceremony commenced with a video presentation highlighting the features of the Issyk-Kul Golf Resort and its new golf club. Situated on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul, the resort spans 120 hectares, with 103 hectares dedicated to the golf club. This strategic development aims to boost tourism in the Issyk-Kul region throughout the year, extending beyond the traditional summer season. The golf course is designed to remain operational for up to 10 months annually, supported by an 80-room hotel and plans for a golf academy and various level tournaments.

The Issyk-Kul Golf Resort complex is designed to merge tourism, sports, wellness, and entertainment, featuring several four- and five-star hotels, restaurants, beaches, and the golf club. The event included welcoming remarks by President of the Kyrgyz Golf Federation Khomeni Ergeshov, followed by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov's address. The presidents then explored the resort and participated in a ceremonial tee-off, signifying the golf course's official opening.
