Gabala: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev welcomed Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), in Gabala on October 6.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the two leaders reflected on their previous meetings and discussed various issues. The Secretary General extended his congratulations to President Aliyev on the outcomes achieved in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump concerning the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for these congratulations.

Kubanychbek Omuraliev also expressed his appreciation for Azerbaijan’s support in elevating the OTS’s international standing and enhancing cooperation among its member and observer states. The meeting included discussions about the upcoming 12th Summit of the OTS Council of Heads of State, scheduled to take place in Gabala. The summit will focus on ‘Regional Peace and Security’ and will address significant issues on the organization’s agenda.

President Aliyev conveyed his confidence that the summit would play a crucial role in promoting friendship, solidarity, and partnership within the Turkic world. Additionally, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the future of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OTS.
