Abu dhabi: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, in Abu Dhabi on February 3.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Mohamed Abdelsalam recalled his visits to Azerbaijan and meetings with the Azerbaijani President. He extended congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev on receiving the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the acknowledgment and praised the Zayed Foundation's role in promoting the humanitarian legacy and values of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan globally. The award was also seen as a testament to the high regard from Pope Leo XIV and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, for the President's efforts in establishing peace.
