Baku:President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, met with Lord Vernon Coaker, the UK Minister of State for Defence, on September 30.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Lord Coaker expressed his gratitude for the reception and was honored to visit Azerbaijan and meet with President Aliyev. He highlighted the significance of the ADEX 2026 and Securex Caspian exhibitions held in Baku, expressing the UK's interest in participating and thanking the President for the high-level organization of these events.
Lord Coaker described Azerbaijan as an important and friendly nation to the UK, emphasizing the desire to maintain and strengthen this relationship. President Aliyev highlighted that a new chapter in Azerbaijan-UK relations has begun, focusing on cooperation in the defense industry. He mentioned Azerbaijan's long-term investments in its defense sector, resulting in products for both domestic use and export. Furthermore, he discussed potential collaborations with leading companies for the supply of modern weapons and equipment, and the establishment of joint ventures in Azerbaijan, underscoring the importance of partnership with the UK in these efforts.
