Baku: On March 13, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, APA reports. The meeting underscored the ongoing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Health Organization and highlighted future activities of UN structures.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on successfully organizing COP29 in Azerbaijan, praising the results achieved during the conference. He expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s support of the World Health Organization and its voluntary financial contributions. The importance of collaborative projects carried out with Azerbaijan in various countries was also emphasized.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that despite the short preparation time, Azerbaijan had taken all necessary measures to ensure the event was held at the highest level. The conversation also focused on the significance of the 12th Global Baku Forum and key issues on its agenda.
