President Ilham Aliyev Meets With President of Mauritius to Discuss Bilateral Relations

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Mauritius Dharambeer Gokhool on May 19. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to President Gokhool for participating in the World Urban Forum 13 (WUF13), highlighting the event as an opportunity to strengthen political relations. President Gokhool thanked President Aliyev for the invitation and acknowledged the importance of the visit for enhancing bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, President Gokhool mentioned his visit to an "ASAN Khidmet" center in Baku, noting his country's interest in implementing a similar model. President Aliyev assured that Azerbaijan is ready to support Mauritius by sharing its experience with the ASAN model.

The discussion also covered the significance of Azerbaijan hosting a global event like WUF13 and the educational scholarships Azerbaijan has awarded to Mauritian students. President Gokhool expressed his gratitude for these scholarships and requested consideration for increasing them in the future.

The two leaders explored further cooperation within international organizations and emphasized the importance of mutual visits in strengthening partnerships. They discussed collaboration in economy, investment, energy, including renewable energy, and tourism, among other areas.
