TASHKENT—President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, along with First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva, paid tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers at his bas-relief in Heydar Aliyev Square in Tashkent on August 22. The square, located in the Mirabad district, was inaugurated in June 2022 during President Aliyev’s state visit to Uzbekistan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the square, which has undergone extensive redevelopment, features green spaces and public amenities. The inauguration of the bas-relief was attended by both President Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, symbolizing the close ties between the two nations.
